Ribbon knots dress in kimono from 1989~2019 (Heisei Period) vintage kimono with hand painted waves. Floating Water / ryusui, the pattern depicts the fluid movement of water through its intricate, curved lines.
The running water pattern symbolizes "washing away hardships and misfortunes" and "flowing water is always pure”.

How do I fold a kimono?

  1. Spred kimono out 
  2. Lay your garment flat & fold the outer edge of the left front to its side seam, then lay the edge of the other front on top.
  3. Fold entire garment in half lengthwise.
  4. Fold uppermost sleeve over body.
  5. Fold body upwards in half or, if you prefer, in thirds.
  6. Fold other sleeve underneath.

How do I take care of kimono?

Dry clean only. Our suggestion is to avoid using a steam iron. Please make sure to use a dry iron with a thin cotton fabric over the kimono to prevent marking the fabric and making it shiny.
